Recaptcha/Checkout Issues
Sorry you are having reCAPTCHA/checkout issues and thank you for persevering. The reCAPTCHA is there to prevent hackers from entering the site and trying to set up fake accounts which then slow the site down. However, I understand that it can sometimes be difficult, particularly when certain browsers are updated and may not work correctly, or if the website host is still catching up. Other orders are getting through, however I will let our web support know.
There are several alternatives and steps you can try:
Cheque: You can also avoid the reCAPTCHA by sending a cheque for the cost of the issue (£7) and the appropriate postage (£3).
Please make cheques payable to Acumen Publications, and include your name and address on the reverse. Send the cheque to:
The Editor,
4 Thornhill Bridge Wharf,
Caledonian Road,
London,
N1 0RU.
Provide a note of the address to which the copy should be sent.
Bank Transfer: You can bypass the reCAPTCHA entirely by logging into your own bank account and making a bank transfer to Acumen to cover the cost of the issue (£7) and the appropriate postage (£3). Acumen bank details are:
- Account Name: Acumen Publications (Business Account – although it is a charity account, there is no specific charity category, and this option works best for these purposes)
- Account Number: 91633600
- Sort Code: 40-36-02
Once the transfer is complete, please email me with the following details:
- The name or bank details you used for the transfer
- The issue you would like to receive
- The address to which the copy should be sent
Try a Different Browser: Consider using a different browser, such as Chrome, Safari, or DuckDuckGo (Microsoft Edge can be problematic). It’s often helpful to use a browser you haven’t used for Acumen before to ensure there’s nothing in the cache.
Clear Your Browser Cache: If you’re unsure how to do this, Wikihow offers a helpful guide: https://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser%27s-Cache
Website Donation: You could calculate the total amount on the website, then instead of purchasing there, go to the donate button on the right hand side, make a donation of that amount, and then email me to confirm that you intended this as a purchase. Please include the issue you want and the address to which it should be sent.
Hopefully you’ll find one of these options helps you, and thanks again for persevering.
