Dragon Child

Marina Sanchez’s series of poems are both personal and universal. Personal as they stem from her experience of learning her daughter had CHARGE syndrome and universal as they touch on the hopes and fears of all mothers for their children. As they chart the everyday, the unusual, the moments of anguish and joy, they will connect with mothers everywhere. But don’t think this series of poems is just for women; it is for everybody, male or female, who is amazed by and wonders at the birth and development of new life.
Marina Sánchez is of Native-American and Spanish origins and has been educated in Mexico and Europe. Her poems and translations have been widely published. She lives in North London and works in a local secondary school.
